Community of the Cross of Nails

The Community of the Cross of Nails is a group of churches and Christian organizations that are committed to working and praying for peace, justice, and reconciliation.

During WWII, St. Michael’s Cathedral in Coventry was destroyed, but a priest gathered three large nails from the rubble and tied them together, acting as a symbol of peace.

In 2015, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church was proud to join the nearly 200 Cross of Nails partners across the globe. Every Friday at noon, we gather in the Peace Chapel to pray for peace and reconciliation, but if you can’t join us in person, you may join us from afar by saying the Litany of Forgiveness at noon. Mama Ada Foundation

When Mama Ada traveled from Kenya to Minnesota to visit family, she asked her new friends at St. David’s Episcopal Church to come help her assist her neighbors in the Rift Valley of Kenya. After some of them decided to take her up on her offer, the Mama Ada Foundation was born.

The foundation works to provide new opportunities to students through scholarships and gives seeds to farmers so they can feed their families.

St. George Table

This organization serves meals to the homeless and needy at St. George Table in Riviera Beach with the goal of improving the quality of life for people in Northeastern Palm Beach County.

Those who volunteer get to enjoy seeing happy faces as they prepare and serve food on a once-per-month basis. Volunteers are also able to serve on the telephone committee.
