Spring 2016 Adult Faith Formation
Teresa of Avila’s Interior Castle
Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m., followed by Eucharist, begins April 5
“All things must come to the soul from its roots, from where it is planted.” –St. Teresa of Avila
Rooted in Love – a 7-session journey through the Interior Castle of the soul – Tuesdays 6 -7 p.m. in the Peace Chapel followed by a 30-minute Eucharist, specifically designed to complement that which was learned. Join the Rev. Sanford Groff as we use Teresa of Avila’s seminal book Interior Castle to deepen our own spiritual journey with God. Interior Castle follows the journey of the soul in intimacy with God using the metaphor of a castle with many rooms. Each of the seven rooms takes us into deeper knowledge and love with God. The book is available in the Lion’s Den but is not necessary to participate in the program. Come for one or all sessions; each is an independent unit that will blend Teresa’s thoughts with our own stories and a spiritual practice to help the soul be more firmly rooted in God’s love.
Rector’s Bible Study on Psalms Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m., begins April 6 Coleman Hall
“[God] drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”
